Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and leadership of cross-functional Core Teams tasked to deliver new products to market. These products are typically, but not limited to, molded plastic products or formed metal. Duties include the planning and management of approved projects by following New Product Introduction processes, project management principles, and effective team management skills. This position will be responsible for working closely with all teams involved to achieve the outputs and timeline required in the project scope, ultimately accountable for delivering projects on-time, within scope, at cost, and with high quality.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Leadership of cross-functional Core Teams, including the creation of each team’s process and timeline definition, followed by management of the Team’s progress against those definitions

  • Drive the development and management of a project’s scope, schedule, and expectations together with Core Team members

  • Track and report on project tasks and milestones, including regular progress reports to the Senior Product Team

  • Ensure changes to scope or project plan are documented and approved

  • Work to continuously improve our New Product Introduction Process and our Custom Product Process

  • Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution

  • Lead post-project evaluations to leverage strengths and improve the areas of weakness

  • Drive performance and results for product readiness

  • Direct PLM Administration for each project.

  • Direct Oracle set-up activities and maintenance of products

Position Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management or leadership role on cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred. MBA a plus. Other BS/BA degree plus relevant experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated leadership managing people and teams strategically, operationally and technically

  • Experience in New Product Design and New Product Introduction of molded plastic products or other hardgoods.

  • Consumer Products Experience with diverse product categories, global markets, and seasonal launches

  • Experience partnering with multiple departments and stakeholders; internal, external, and international. Experience in manufacturing in Mexico and in China is a plus.

  • Excellent planning and project execution skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills including team leadership and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem recognition and critical thinking skills with aptitude for problem resolution

  • Good judgment and ability to drive timely and sound decisions

  • Commitment to excellence and high standards

  • Ability to recognize when to escalate issues and ability to do so in a concise and timely manner

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and still meet deadlines

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project or other scheduling applications.
