Responsibilities and Qualifications

Position Overview

Bell Powersports is seeking an enthusiastic, well-organized and talented engineering student to join our Scotts Valley, California office for the summer. The successful intern will be part of the engineering team that is responsible for the design and development of helmets for our Bell brand. Responsibilities will include supporting the daily activities and projects of the engineering team; as well as taking on at least one major project during your internship. The duration of this internship will be 10 to 12 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience, build networking contacts, and open the door to future opportunities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create sketches, drawings and specifications to translate ideas into models and working prototypes

  • Work closely with our Mechanical Engineering staff to conceptualize new product ideas

  • Test functional prototypes to verify design intent through virtual or physical methods

  • Completion of one major project

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Education and Training:

  • Working towards a Mechanical Engineering degree at an accredited institution

  • CAD experience required, preferably proficient in Solidworks

  • A keen understanding of our sports, the competitive landscape and the market needs and trends

  • Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft applications required (Word and Excel).

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in design.
