Responsibilities and Qualifications
The Project Manager assists in the development, coordination and execution of integrated project plans and initiatives for a specific business unit. This position implements processes required for effective, strategic project management. This individual works directly with product creation, suppliers, creative services, management, licensors and other key internal departments to ensure each individual project’s objectives are achieved. The Project Manager is the focal point and main contact for project communications and progress status.
Reviews project proposal to establish time lines and procedures, determine the allotment of available resources for completing the project in a timely and efficient manner.
Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget guidelines.
Responsible for coordinating product development meetings, ensuring assigned project goals and objectives are understood and achieved while following established development procedures.
Responsible for leading cross-functional teams that coordinate the activities of other groups for the successful introduction of new products.
Work collaboratively with Product Management to define product requirements
Works closely with multiple departments to ensure projects are aligned with the business unit objectives and the planned time line.
Ensure timely implementation of objectives, projects, and priorities while following established procedures and schedules
Facilitate alignment of sales and marketing activities to support ownership’s strategy for the business
Assist the product manager in general marketing, sales, and related personnel activities
Assist in the project management of the development of new or modified products to further the company’s competitive position
Manages time and budget allocations for the project.
Enters project plans into internal data tracking systems and monitors project’s progress.
Prepares project status reports for dissemination to management.
Identifies, addresses and resolves issues that may impede the progress/completion of a project.
Ensures that project procedures and processes are in accordance with company policies, standards and protocols.
Manages additional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum 3-5 years project management experience required.
Broad experience in project management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in the sporting goods industry desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Outstanding project management skills with the ability to plan work flow.
PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software knowledge a plus.
Customer focus, planning, prioritizing and goal setting, respecting diversity, teamwork.
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional team skills.
Ability to work extended hours during critical deadlines.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently within deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
